Hands down, the only place that I need to DJ (and just hang out in general) when I hit Las Vegas is Insert Coins. I've had the pleasure of DJing there several times and it's always amazing, never a lame nose in the air crowd, the bar staff are cool as shit and so are the owners. Who else does an "open format" night in the city!? Last month I had the opportunity to spin there again and it says something when they know your steez and set up visuals for the evening that compliment what you spin and how you spin, now thats love right there! I don't know any venue that would go the extra mile to put together footage because I'm in town. Salute to Insert Coins, DJ 88 and all DJs and staff there!

Helsinki Finland has always been in my top 5 places to travel to, rock parties and have fun it. But after this weekend madness it's properly earned a permanent place in my top 3 destinations. Flow Mo anniversary was pure exactly what I expected times 10, the parties, the festive drinking, rocking the club and of course celebrating the 11 year anniversary. On this trip as usual we hung out at my favorite spot to rock, "We Got Beef" where much beer was consumed in a 2 hour period of time (plus I love walking out the club at 4am and the sun is already out!) you definitely lose all track of time. Then DJing at the anniversary party which pretty much was 95% women, with an incredible sound system which I put through the test.
A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to do a Q&A / Lecture and also to DJ in Detroit which was really amazing. But I would have to say the highlight of the trip was definitely hearing stories about the cities rich cultural history and how "Detroit" the people really are. The people that live there really take pride in their city and after visiting I realized that what you see in the media and what you think you know about the city is all wrong. You have to visit there to see that it's not what's being portrayed on TV and news. Most of my time walking around was in "Mexicantown" which is really refreshing because everything is Mexican owned Mom & Pop stores, Barbershops, restaurants, markets and bakeries. I also had the opportunity to see some of the parks and places where legendary Hip Hop and Bboy battles went down.
I'm really impressed with how the Philadelphia Airport stepped up the art / exhibit display game, guess they finally get the hint that it was time to modernize what was typically an outdated "International" airport. One of the few new exhibits up is the history of breweries in Philadelphia which displays old cans, bottles and signs and you know I love my beers.

A long overdue trip is finally happening in 2 weeks as I make my way to Nashville to rock The Boom Bap party! I've heard so many great things about the crowd so I'm looking forward to bringing that Philly DJ flavor with me. In addition, you know I'm not leaving without having the good ol' BBQ and finding some records right!?
This week I keep things flowing and will be heading out the Helsinki Finland to rock with Flow Mo Crew family as they celebrate their 11th Anniversary. Always good times when visiting them as well as an honor to be apart of their history.

After 2 years of filming and editing episodes the Crate Raiderz crew finally make their way to episode 11 which I just happen to be featured in. In this episode I pull out some of my favorite 45's + one as I go into overtime with an extra field goal. There's a lot going on in the episode outside of records as the site "Collecting Daily" must've caught wind of this episode and featured it on the front page of their site. Shouts to everyone who viewed it and for the great feedback!
